Silent Noize Events at The Birmingham Light Festival

Silent Noize was honoured to attend and supply our silent disco headsets for 2024’s Birmingham Light Festival on Saturday, March 23.  

Celebrating The Heart of Birmingham 

This year, Silent Noize became part of the Birmingham Light Festival which was a celebration of the great city, and our home, with a multi-day event featuring a heart-shaped mirror ball, dubbed Our Beating Heart, sculpted out of 11,000 mirrored tiles.  

The festival brought together Birmingham’s residents of all ages, as well as tourists from across the country, for a stunning display and to share in positivity and well-being, something the residents were greatly appreciative of after the troubling news that the city’s council have made substantial cuts to many public and cultural services.  

Birmingham city’s curator Alex Nicholson-Evans commented: “There has never been a more important moment for the people of this city to come together and share some love and positivity. Birmingham is facing incredibly difficult times, but this is still a truly fantastic city to live in, to work in, to visit, and to do business in.” 

The glorious heart-shaped sculpture was set up in Snow Hill Square where, during the day, the mirrored heart reflected the sunny spectacles and at night shined brighter than a diamond with a display of dancing lights and colours.  

On the final day of the event, Silent Noize provided a silent disco for attendees, who didn’t need to book or pay to receive a pair of our headphones and put on a wide choice of heart-themed disco music to please all demographics. Our headsets were as colourful as the light display, helping everyone get in the dancing spirit. Children’s faces lit up as the cool blues and shimmering reds sparkled in the night sky, while those brave enough to strap on a pair of roller skates on the cobbled streets danced and grooved to the silent disco music.  

Future Silent Disco Events in Birmingham 

This event marked the beginning of future light shows in Birmingham, and there was a clear appeal for not only this type of event but our silent discos too!
