Perhaps wrongly, pre-Covid, issues around hygiene and infection control at large scale gatherings took a bit of a back seat. Now they are very much front and centre of everybody’s thinking. From event organisers to the attendees themselves, key to the success of events this summer and beyond, is going to be making sure everybody is kept safe whilst on site. Perhaps just as important is the need for organisers to ensure their audiences FEEL safe.
Back in the Autumn of 2020 we had some really positive conversations with festival organisers about running ‘Covid-safe’ events. One thing that emerged from these discussions was that the Silent Disco can actually be used as a tool to assist with safety, rather than a barrier. Here’s why:

Like everybody we hope that this summer will bring some sort of normality back to our social lives and that a somewhat stripped back festival season is a real possibility. But in reality it’s likely that there will still be some restrictions in place no matter how well the vaccine rollout goes.
